Andrew Carpenter
Lead Pastor
Having served in full-time church ministry for over two decades, Andrew joined the Koinos Community in 2016. He desires to see Koinos flourish as more people discover their identity in Christ and their role in God’s work. Andrew enjoys Iron and Wine, black coffee, the big screen on a little screen, and well-crafted writing. He has a Marketing Degree and has completed his Master’s of Divinity. Andrew and his wife, Carmen have two adult children.
Dan Van Matre
Student Ministry Director
Dan lives in Reading with his wife Mallory, daughters Violet, and River and their dog Ruby. His B.A. in Marketing and M.A. in Human Services Counseling led him to a full-time job with Merrill Lynch in addition to his work with the teenagers in our community. When he isn’t hanging out with the 7th-12th graders at Koinos, he can be found going to concerts and listening to music ranging from indie rock to metal to hip-hop, watching Futurama, and Breaking Bad, or reading Ta-Nehisi Coates and The Lord of the Rings. Dan seeks to embody the words of Henri Nouwen: “A blessing is the most significant form of affirmation we can offer…it is to say ‘yes’ to a person’s belovedness…to give a blessing creates the reality of which it speaks.”
At Koinos, we flourish as a community built on the hope of Jesus Christ. We value our volunteers who are actively serving our children and youth. We have a strong team of leaders who help set the tone and direction for the organization. Our worship teams strive to move us into a deeper relationship with God.
